Significant Planning Proposals:

There are various proposals at different stages of development:

Local plan allocations

1Heronby Proposal to develop a new settlement to the South West of Escrick. Selby District Council are developing a new local plan for the district, which will set out how the district will develop until 2040. In 2020 they asked land owners to put forward potential sites for development. A site has been put forward to the south west of Escrick for a new settlement, known as Heronby. Selby District Council is now considering this alongside two potential other new settlement locations as part of their local plan.
They are consulting on the first draft of the local plan until 12th March 2021, and expect to consult on the final draft in early 2022.
You can find out more about the local plan and this allocation here.
2Housing sites around the villageProposal for housing to the west, east and south of Escrick: The local plan also received three submissions for land on the boundary of Escrick (see below). These have been rejected in the first draft of the local plan issued for consultation in early 2021.
You can find out more about the local plan and these allocations here.
